SCC Visit of the KIT Belle II Group

The KIT Belle II group visited the SCC campus north last week. They got a tour through the high-performance computing cluster HoreKa (see picture)  and the Grid computing center GridKa. HoreKa is a cluster for different scientific communities with large jobs running on several machines. GridKa is one of the main computing centers for high-energy physics and stores about 10% of the LHC and Belle II data. It also provides computing and storage resources for the local ETP groups. Besides the flashing LEDs and racks of servers and disks, they got an insight into the cooling systems and tape libraries at SCC. There will be other tours if you are interested.
